Well since I know "football" and college OT rules I "think" the team gets it on the 25 to start and have to make it a whole 10 yds to get a first down which would be the 15 (if my math is right) and so I think the white line that is actually on the field and not a TV illustration is actually that line...but what do I know

You can't take an angle from the 30 yard line and tell anything from that.

Harbaugh could see enough to be a bitch about it after the game...

But, if the right call is made on the field in the first place...

It was called correctly...

Screw Ohio State.
That said, it was a 1st down.

That would be the pic after he lunged when he was down. I dislike harbaugh and Meyer but the refs clearly favored OSU today. Michigan got screwed on a few non pass interference calls not to mention the one against them on a clearly unwatchable ball on the game tying drive

Jesus Christ. Too close to call. All they had to do is gtvthe nose of the ball to the 15. Really don't know what there is to dispute or challenge here.

What Harbaugh should be botching about are the fumble by his QB on the 2, the pick 6 and other INT.

Oh... So the marker was at the white line and abc couldn't correctly put the yellow line on it. Can I borrow that tin foil hat?

It's pretty common knowledge that when you start at the 25, you need to get to the 15. The yellow line was definitely off.

If you watch from the other angle, the ball is against the lower back of 88, right across the waist. That location coupled with this pic indicates first down. And a coach should never say anything with absolute certainty when everyone in the room but him has seen 100 slow motion replays. You set yourself up to look foolish.

All that had to happen was for any part of the ball simply touch the plane of the 15-yard line.

The only sideline replay showing the 15-yard line was angled from tOSU endzone side of that line (left of the line in the screen view) and was therefore COMPLETELY inconclusive and could in no way demonstrate any reason to overturn the call.

All that said, from what could be seen in that replay, the photo in this thread looks EXTREMELY plausible to me.

Short version: Harbaugh can go suck big old slimy donkey dicks, fricking autistic bastard.

I thought he was short but its not like you can overturn the spot on that replay

the replays were terrible. and why is there no super slow motion replay once you establish which camera has the view?

we have the technology and NCAA and NFL are in the stone age on this.

its like letting MLB umps call balls and strikes when you can plainly see the rectangle and that the MLB umps miss strikes constantly. stop it. just stop it. use a computer and lasers damn it. the modern players will get used to once again MLB having the actual strike zone that is in the rule book. even when they used to call balls and strikes according to the rules, if a storm was a-comin' they would call balls off the plate a strike to get the game in.

Unless he was carrying the ball under his nutsack it's clearly a first down
