Based on this experience, I'm thinking the folks at Michigan might start scheduling all night games now that they have lights.

I have been to a Michigan-Ohio St game at the Big House and the noise was about the same as the average ULM/ULL/LA Tech game at Tiger Stadium.

That was due to 2 things.

1 - Sound used to escape from the Big House. Since the 250M renovation, that same sound is now reflected back.

2 - We have quite a few elderly and families w/ little kids that attend games normally. Figure a number of them sold/gave away their tickets tonight.

We get less jack-arses at our games, but the negative is folks tend to sit down, and not get rowdy.

Agree with you on this. There is a certain amount of decorum at academic hotbeds vs football hotbeds.

Michigan is a great football school. They just happen to be really good at academics too.

That was AMAZING! I sat in the student section and it was crazy. Hell people didn't leave the game for upwards of 30 minutes to an hour. Everyone was just on cloud 9 not wanting to move and just celebrate. We left 45 minutes after during the bands "First Annual Early Morning Show" as they called it. The whole experience was just crazy and the crowd was the loudest I have ever seen it. It honestly was on the best times I have had a football game (this may only be because we came back in the 4th like we did though)

For 9/11 we had 2 paratroopers drop in. This has caused the only time I've seen the student section standing at half time because of it.

Also, we set a new attendance record. The old record was set at the Big Chill last year at 114,411. This time it was 114,804.

I'm pretty sure that was just the first game that started after dark. I remember seeing a PSU/Meeechigan game in the Big House that finished when it was dark. PSU got robbed too...

It was the first game that ever started at night. A couple years back when Michigan beat PSU on the last play, it started at 3:30 and carried on into the night and they had temporary lights on for that game.

Permanent lights = night starts.
