It amazes me how many dumbasses come with the ring comments anytime Ben isn't mentioned with the elite.
It's the easiest, laziest, and least convincing argument anybody can make. Coincidentally, it's the pet argument of ESPN's dumbest hack analysts.

He's actually got a point. The Pats offense last season was based on short passes and yards after the catch.

Who is saying Ben is with the "elite"?

I said Ben is behind the elite (Brady, Rodgers, Manning, Brees) + fringe top five

He's a better Quarterback than people on this board give him credit for

Brady
Rodgers
Brees
Manning
Rivers - first in offense and defense last year and they don't make the playoffs - but worst in the league in special teams. Only 1996 Packers and 1972 Dolphins have been first in both categories (I think.)
Big Ben

Did he say "in the National Football League" a thousand times, instead of just saying NFL?

I agree that Ben is a damn good quarterback. Here are the quarterbacks ranked by career rating:

Rodgers 98.4
Rivers 97.2
Romo 95.5
Brady 95.2
Manning 94.9
Roethlisberger 92.5
Brees 91.7
Schaub 91.5
Flacco 87.9
Ryan 86.9
Garrard 85.8
McNabb 85.7

And it was based around a sub par group of receivers. Deion Branch had his best season in five years since leaving NE. Welker had another solid season even though he probably wasn't 100% the majority of the year. Hernandez and Gronkowski were primary targets for the majority of the season. Even Woodhead and Brandon Tate were utilized a great deal.

Brady outperformed everyone last year without a whole lot of big time targets.

He had a great season, but it's still overrated. I've seen people on here call it his best ever, which is ludicrous. He threw a bunch of accurate 5 yard passes and protected the ball.

It's not overrated if you compare it to the last couple of seasons. It's not the greatest season ever, but he had by far the best season of anyone in the NFL last year.

To his last couple of season or all QBs? I agree with ESPN's new qb rating that has Brees 09, Manning 09, and Manning 08 over Brady's 10

Sure.

But he's still not better than the 2 best QBs in the league...

I agree to a point. He is a big dude and is hard to bring down. However the Pitt offense is not geared to have the passing stats that the Saints and Packers O are designed to do.
