So why would the Cards want to start a guy who won't get the ball to their best player?

Because he's played better than any other person at his position thus far?

You know this how?

If he wasn't confident in his ability, he would have gladly accepted his demotion.

The fact that he's pissed about it tells me he seems pretty confident.

He's so pissed that he's basically forcing ARI to cut him meaning that he'd rather be elsewhere for a minimum salary than under Whisenhunt making $5 mill or whatever his current deal pays.

Word.

Sounds like the opposite of a guy who is not confident.

If you're not confident, you keep your mouth shut and cower your way back to the bench where you feel safe as a backup QB.

most of his passing yards came from 5 yard dump offs

i don't know about you but i would take 5 yards every time. Isn't that basically what the west coast offense was based off of, short passes? but that was never successful

Relatively speaking, 5 yards per attempt is horrible.

Joe Montana averaged between roughly 7.5 and 9.1 yards per attempt in his prime.

so first down's are more than 15 yards these days uh?

Also, in the preseason he is averaging 7.0 per attempt, so taking someones 5 yard dump off too literal payed off.

YOU compared it to the west coast, which is a terrible comparison as I showed you.

You really need to brush up on understanding yards per attempt.

Literally every single QB in the league averaged more than 5.0 yards per attempt.

So, keep thinking that 5 YPA is a good thing. But I can assure, it is not, not even close actually.

He needs to go to WCO, rather than the air it out show they want to have in ARI.

Somewhere like KC may actually be good for him.

No, i said that the short passing game is the concept for which the west coast is based. I completely understand what average per attempt means as i showed you, bill walsh. As you stated Joe Montana averaged between 7 and 9 per, i'm sure most would agree the lower end of montana is still pretty respectible as Matt is averaging 7 yards per attempt.

from what I have read, it doesnt sound like the guy is willing to throw the deep ball, he would rather check down and to me that is an indication of a lack of confidence and indicative of the type of person he is- not sure of himself and unwilling to take risks

I've heard the team as a whole isn't big on leinart, so it may just have more to do with him being a prick vs. ken picking on him

No you haven't; you've heard writers imply that because the team is being silent on the issue.

comapred to Anderson's 5.4. And he just cited 5.9 as measly?

Anderson's completion % was 44 last year and 50% the year before, and we are supposed to believe he has nothing against Leinart personally?

Don't confuse them Lester.

It's very easy not to like Leinart. Probably a lot easier once anyone spends appreciable time with him. Saw a post-game interview with him after one of their pre-season losses and he was already whining and defensive about his performance. Perhaps he's not the leader and team guy that should be in there. The little we see of him in interviews is negative, imagine that all the time.

A writer on the NFL Network said that Leinart has lost the locker room, and that some of the higher-profile players on the team had talked to the coach about him. Rich Eisen asked if that specifically meant Larry Fitzgerald and the guy said yes.

It was going to be a big drop going from Kurt Warner to one of these two guys regardless, but it's worse now because of the way it has played out.

none of us are in the locker room/practice so we'll never know the truth. I'm guessing it's prolly a combination of Matt's immaturity and Wiz's personal dislike of douche-bags. but let's not forget anderson has been to a pro-bowl and has a bigger arm.

Certainly seems plausible.

We've already established that he's played better than Anderson in the preseason, so why else would the team bench him and then shop him?

leinart is horrid.

thank you loomis, chargers, dolphins, and most importantly drew brees. every time someone bitches about reggie bush i just enjoy the fact that we had the luxury of taking a so called "role player"

had it not been for brees we'd either have leinart, young, or aj hawk right now.. no drew brees.. no #1 offense year in year out.. and no superbowl.
