He had literally just turned 21 and hadnt broken out into stardom yet Did your beginners websites not tell you this?
quote:
Are you telling me that no we don't see the vast majority of the fastest 4x1'a going with your two fastest sprinters on second and anchor, well?
Do you just not get how a 4x1 is suppose to work?
When are you going to answer this?
“3/7 teams have 1 of their 2 best runners on 3rd leg. The top 3 teams ever run all have a top 2 runner on 3rd leg.”
Or this?
“ Fraser-price just ran 3rd leg for Jamaica in the Olympics. Bowie was 3rd leg for the gold medal US team in 2016. Campbell-brown was the 3rd leg for Jamaica. Asher-smith is 3rd leg for Great Britain. ”
Or this?
“ Noah lyles is the most exceptional 200m in the world for 3 years. You’ll never see him on 3rd leg.”
"It is not all about winning championships. It's about being in the hunt to win championships." - LSU Director of Athletics Joe Alleva
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dude, Bolt ran a few second legs before it became obvious it wasn't working, ok?
Now answer my question of the top 100 fastest 4x1's are you saying the fastest sprinters on that team aren't on second/anchor most the time, well?
A few? What other 2nd legs did he run at major meets?
Wasn’t working? He is, by far, the greatest 100 and 200 sprinter ever. Exactly how do you figure him running 2nd leg “wasn’t working”? What evidence do you have that he wouldn’t have been, by far, the best 2nd leg at the 2008 Olympics or the 2009 world championships? You’ll have to truly scour your beginners website now.
I’ve answered this multiple times. It’s part of the failed quote in your post. You’re too afraid to acknowledge it or not intelligent enough to respond. Which is it? I guess it doesn’t actually matter if you’re just going to keep pretending it doesn’t exist.
That’s not what you initially said though, is it? You initially said
quote:
never running your studs around a curve.
Never means “not ever”. People posted examples of times studs ran the curve and then you tried to walk it back to “most of the time”. Why didn’t you just say that initially? No one would have argued with that.
My beginners guide is Track & Field News mag, been a subscriber since 1966, can talk about cats you have never heard of, trust me.
Remember how ya didn't know Bolt had ever ran a second leg at all, add he ran a few second legs to your.....well that;s new to me...list.
Ok, all these guys have things they do well, Noah Lyles is like Tommie Smith he was JUST an anchorman. Google..Tommie Smith. Nesta Carter JUST lead off, Carl Lewis JUST anchor.
Way back when NCC had a stud 4x1 with Floyd Williams on anchor, he was a so so sprinter until he had a baton in his hand, great great anchorman.
JJ Johnson ran down cats who could beat him at 100m in a 4x1 anchor, great anchorman.
Dude, the vast majority of fast 4x1's the two fastest on that team are usually second or anchor, are you telling me that isn't true?
By the way....
I was obviously talking about how a 4x1 is suppose to be ran, I assumed that was very obvious.
Think...
Nobody can run as fast around a curve as they can on a straight so why put your fastest sprinters where they can't be at their fastest? That make any sense to you?
Sometimes a team wontt have leadoff guy or a third leg so ya have to get creative and twek things, A USA 4x1 is the top 6 finishers of the 100m, all these guys ran anchor in college, So ya have to find who can do what on a relay.
So use your 1000+ issues of track and field news to tell me what few meets bolt ran 2nd leg at.
quote:
Remember how ya didn't know Bolt had ever ran a second leg at all, add he ran a few second legs to your.....well thats new to me...list.
So name the few. After you can’t, explain why bolt has run 3rd leg more often at major meets than he’s run 2nd leg.
Ok, all these guys have things they do well, Noah Lyles is like Tommie Smith he was JUST an anchorman.
You said 3rd leg is for exceptional 200m runners. Who is a more exceptional 200m runner than lyles since bolt retired?
You mean the tommie smith that wasn’t even on the 4x1 team at the only Olympics he participated in? That tommie smith?
Usain Bolt (9.05) 21.08.86 JAM
Nesta Carter (9.40) 11.10.85 JAM
Asafa Powell (8.84) 23.11.82 JAM “
You make this entirely too easy
That Tommie Smith who ran down the guy who did anchor that Olympic 4x1 team Olympic 100m champ Jimmy Hines on a 4x1 anchor. This is news to you isn't it?
Because of injuries and other things we might see al these guys anywhere but they all have the leg they excell at, Nesta Carter was a leadoff man and if ya knew this stuff you;d know that.
So the fact Bolt started out running the second leg is news to you, how can it be if ya know this stuff? The fact he sucked trying to hand off is news, really?
You really don't get we have guys like Noah Lyles who are wasted anywhere but anchor do ya?
I know, news to you.
The 4x1 was made of those who placed in the 100m at the trials, Smith was a 200m man.
Dude, Nesta Carter wasn't a leadof man??
What you do with each post is prove how little you know.
If ya knew the sport then you are well aware of Tommie Smith and his 4x1 prowess. This is actually news to you.
Everyone knows about Bolts second legs problems, hell you didn;t even know he ran a second leg, hahaha!!!
You;d know about Asafa Powell as a 4x1 guy, this is all new to you.
You;d know about DeGrasse at USC and that second leg, all news to you. Know about his second leg at the Pan Am's.
Everybody knows about Nesta Carter and that lead off leg, news to you.
Dude so much of this you simply don't seem to know about, how old are you?
Bolt ran the second leg in HS, so early on he was tried there just made sense, well he had problems with handing off, this is news to you isn;t it?
Powell ran every leg, why? Yep, he didn't have one he excelled at. News to you.
Talk to me about George Anderson, I know....who?
The only comment I’ve made about nesta Carter is that you posted a lineup in this thread where he ran 3rd leg, after you stupidly said he could JUST run leadoff.
Lyles is an anchorman think Carl Lewis.
Still waiting for you to explain how both of these are true when your beginners blog you use for everything says the best runners are on 2nd leg.
quote:
Dude so much of this you simply don't seem to know about, how old are you?
Old enough to know you are too stupid to come up with a response to any of these things that prove everything you’re saying wrong:
3/7 teams have 1 of their 2 best runners on 3rd leg. The top 3 teams ever run all have a top 2 runner on 3rd leg.
Fraser-price just ran 3rd leg for Jamaica in the Olympics. Bowie was 3rd leg for the gold medal US team in 2016. Campbell-brown was the 3rd leg for Jamaica. Asher-smith is 3rd leg for Great Britain.
Noah lyles is the most exceptional 200m in the world for 3 years. You’ll never see him on 3rd leg.
He sucked so badly at handoffs he was put on 3rd leg in both 2008 and 2009 when he was in world record shape, on teams that both set the 4x1 world record at the time
quote:
Bolt ran the second leg in HS
Since you’re happy going back to HS, let’s look at what nesta “JUST leadoff” Carter was running back in those days.
Carter finished fourth in the 200 m at the June CAC Junior Championships, his time 21.35 s, and ran the third leg of the 4 × 100 m relay team which finished first in 40.63 s. He finished fourth in the 200 m semi-final at the July World Junior Championships in 21.24 s. In the semi-final of the 4 × 100 m relay Carter ran the third leg and the team qualified for the final in 39.90
quote:
well he had problems with handing off, this is news to you isn;t it?
You keep repeating this lie, so I’ll keep repeating the reply that shows your stupidity:
He sucked so badly at handoffs he was put on 3rd leg in both 2008 and 2009 when he was in world record shape, on teams that both set the 4x1 world record at the time.
quote:
Powell ran every leg, why? Yep, he didn't have one he excelled at. News to you.
So before it was bolt, who you stupidly claim sucks at handoffs, had to run 3rd leg because “ Asafa Powell could only anchor, anywhere else he sucked.”
Now it’s “Powell ran every leg because he didn’t have one he excelled at”
Talk to me about George Anderson, I know....who?
Unlike you, I don’t have an obsession with people that were never even on an Olympic or major championship relay team. So no, I won’t.
