My guess is that your father is still a packer in more ways than 1.

reddman you know you would kick cincy to the curb if a team game to NO
I would probably get season tickets, actually. But, I'd still be a Reds fan first. It wouldn't even be close.

Just don't do it on a gameday, as that would mean that your loved ones would be mourning you and not supporting the Hornets. We can't have that.
I should probably wait till the offseason so my friends and family have plenty of time to get the grief out and replace any Hornets merchandise that was ruined over the course of the process before they can pack Da HIVE!!!

yea it's really hard to say. I know i don't live in N.O. anymore but I lived the 1st 18 years of my life their, my family is there and good/bad it's still a source of pride for me and my friends who no longer live there for whatever reason. No matter how long I live in BR I'll still always identify more with N.O. so I naturally have pride in N.O. sports teams, but on the other hand it's pretty tough to just turn off your "love" for a team after 20 years.
My only sort of experience with this is that I grew up in a Tulane family. Had football and basketball season tickets since I was born and made every home football and basektball game (excluding the point shaving years) and naturally I hated LSU. Then I came to LSU and converted. I still pulled for Tulane but eventually my interest waned for the most part. Although I still root for them when they aren't playing LSU and I don't hate them.
My 1st year at LSU was 96 and I must say pulling for LSU against Tulane in football that year was a strange experience. Now it's easy

You fall in the category of the tard who post in a thread that doesn't invole him. If you don't like basketball or the NBA fine. Then why do you feel the need to talk about it?
I was wondering if someone would fault me for not supporting a local team. For example, I would fault someone who went to LSU and doesn't support LSU football. I can accept my room-mate doesn't like football, but not to support his alma-mata or get involved in tail-gating baffles me.
But if you're brave enough to call me a "tard" from the safety of the internet, have fun. Heaven knows how I value your opinion.
So much for an intellegent conversation.

- The New Orleans baseball club came to New Orleans.
- The Cubs did not, despite my having loved them for decades.
- It's gay to be a Cubs fan anyway.
- frick the Cubs.
- Geaux New Orleans!
Any other way, and you're not a sports fan.

I just can't flip a switch like that, phan.
I was a huge Buckeye fan when I started at LSU in 1994. I gradually gave favor to LSU over the years, but it hurt like hell to pull for Michigan over Ohio State in 2003. Now I really don't follow OSU that much at all, but Jim Tressel is to blame for most of that.

but you did. I stayed a pretty big Tulane fan while the guys who were playing when I was going all the time were still there. Once Perry Clark left I was done.

It wasn't really a flip of the switch. It took damn near 10 years to make the switch complete.

Seems like any Louisianian over 25 likes LSU, the Saints and either the Rockets or the Spurs.

And also, I don't have a problem with someone switching their allegiance if they want. It's their prerogative. However, saying that someone MUST switch who they pull for in a sport is downright idiotic.

On a related topic, should someone ever give up their fandom to a particular team because of bad management/play?
