i used to love when every time a transfer player came to us, we'd think he was the next big thing and that he'd put us over the top...

It's not all recruiting ... Often its the program selling itself.

A whole bunch of this ^^^^^.

Parents find a way for their kids to get to top-notch programs - athletically and academically.

I went to public school through elementary. My public high school district was re-zoned and my parents refused to let me attend the school in my new district. They could either move or pay for a private tuition. They chose the latter. In no way, shape, or form was I recruited and I believe that this is true of most private school kids.

If the public schools in Louisiana could get their act together, they would not have to worry about things like this. I have family in Texas with much more financial prowess than my own, yet they all go to public schools because the education and athletics are top-notch.
