They really can't push it back any more.
Why do you think that?

Rummel still was only 12-10 with their players back. They didn't exactly set the world on fire. 6-6 in their last 12. Rummel had a solid team that prob was playoff worthy. But every other team had to deal with not having it's dual sport athletes for a period of time.

They have already pushed baseball back for some of the exact same reasons. Except instead of the baseball season extending into the summer, it is still ending at the same time, essentially shortening the season.
There's only enough time for the big three sports. Maybe the LHSAA should change the rules on the amount of games you can play in a week, so teams like Rummel with a lot of student athletes who play both can maybe backload their schedules.
It's an interesting debate.

I won't shed one tear for them, but they did get a little screwed. Gave Aug their only district loss, swept Jesuit, and split with HC. Finished second in the Catholic League and they're the only team from the league not going besides god-awful Shaw.

Turn up. I wish I was in high school to see this team play. I heard they are stacked with talent.

The Sportsplex/Red Storm project is really working out for them.
They've got a tough road, though. Looking like Episcopal in the quarters (assuming the Knights can get past the same Winnfield team that took them out the last two years).
Riverside/Lakeview is very likely the final in 2A.

It helps that their head coach owns it. back in High School, I received almost all my service hours working in that gem (pun intended) and damn what a nice arse facility.

Yeah they didn't finish strong, but the 12-10 comes with no prior practice either. Can't expect the kids to just show up and play well together on the court right after they get off the football field.
Every team in that district except St. Aug lost at least 5 of their last 12 games. One of the last 12 for Rummel includes a loss to the #4 team in the state.
The loses in the last 12 have more to do with the quality of the district than anything. Losing those early games are what kept Rummel out. Not losing the late games.

Yea the early games probably prevented rummel from getting in. The Catholic league is the toughest district in the state to play in. Rummel, bm, hc, and jes all have pretty good teams. I don't feel any of those teams separated themselves from each other. Yea they came in second but they weren't the second best team.

they played a tougher schedule so their power rating was higher. Head to heads don't really matter.

Port Allen got by by the skin of their teeth against Independence on Friday night. They can't get caught slipping again.
