For those on the inside, why doesn't LHSAA baseball have a best of 3 format like Mississippi or Texas? I was reading the Mississippi thread and their system is better than ours. Why can't Louisiana ever seem to get up to speed on stuff like this?

Principals. The La. high school coaches have tried just about every year to change the single elimination format, but the principals vote it down everytime.

I think it would be tough to have a best of 3 series for each round.
What I would like to see is a best of 3 for the championship, though.

8 regionals the first week. Then 3 best of 3 series. Playoffs end in a month with 0 school missed.

I like that.
Anything to eliminate a school from being able to ride an ace all the way to the semis is something I would be in favor of.
Even if it would just be putting 4 teams at the same location and playing the district and regionals roudn in one weekend, and then doing the same for the quarters and semis.
