LeBron hasn't been satisfied with the "talent" he's been surrounded by in Cleveland. Again, he owes them NOTHING.

Though many criticized him for the show last night, to me he showed excitement in going to Miami (well he really didn't care what city it was as long as Wade and Bosh were there) and was apologetic to Cleveland. I had a feeling that he just didn't want anybody to dislike him.
I agree, people act like LeBron called ESPN and asked "hey can you guys give me an on air rim-job for 3 hours so I can announce where I'm going". The Cleveland owner is clearly off the reservation and LeBron was never going to win there, because no big time FA wants to live in freaking Cleveland (ask Bosh). He knows he has to start winning titles to be put in the same category with the guys he idolized growing up.

He owes them a little respect. The Cavs won 60+ games the last two seasons with HCA throughout the playoffs. The ownership put a good team on the floor. There's no way around it.
He could have at least told them first so they could move on. But no, he wants to keep the big secret for his Lebronathon.

I've thought about it a while and I understand the move. You need certain peices to win a championship. An outside shooter (D. Fisher, Ray Allen, C. Billups, Big Shot Bob, John Paxson) a decent point (R. Rondo, Fisher, Billups, T. Parker, BJ Armstrong) A star player who can dominate (Shaq, Kobe, Olijawan, P. Pierce, D. Wade, T. Duncan, Jordan) the number two guy (Shaq, Pippen, P. Gasol, C. Drexler, KG) and somekind of defensive presence down low (KG, Shaq, Olijawan, Duncan, Ben Wallace, R. Wallace, K. Perkins)
Cleveland didn't have that and they have a situation where they weren't creating a team, but just putting stop gaps in place. You may go through some bad times, but you have to be moving in a direction. I don't think LeBron would have ever won a championship in Cleveland. Not anytime soon anyway, so I can see being upset at the ownership/front office and wanting to go to a place who will put a team together capable of winning a championship.
He should have called them. It was a little dickish.

He did. His representatives did, anyway.
My other problem with this is the way he lied about not planning this. He had this planned since the olympics, at least. When asked if it was planned all along he said "no, because I didn't think it would be possible". That's bullshite. I'm sure Wade kept him abreast of the fact that the Heat were freeing up cap space left and right to do just this over the last couple of years. Not getting D Wade any help over the last couple of years, just to make this possible. He knew, Wade knew, Bosh knew, the Heat knew... apparently the Cavs didn't realize it. I won't pull for this jackass ever again. He's no MJ, Magic, Bird, or (sorry to say it) Kobe.
