It doesn't help that their leader played poorly (by his normal play) overall and showed little leadership when it mattered.

Kobe is a terrible leader and when the chips are down he bitches out his teammates and quits on his team. He is a great competitor but when things turn for the worse, he is the first one to point the finger at anyone else. He has been one of the most fortunate guys in the NBA as far as quality of teammates. For the four years he did not have quality teammates, he was a terrible leader.

You are directly comparing Kobe to lebron based on stats, when the 08 celtics statistically where much stronger on defense, teammates are irrelevant in the comparison.

So the fact that the 10 Celtics could double team Lebron whenever they wanted, whereas they had to worry about defending a better Lakers team is irrelevant? From what I remember, they pretty much played Pierce straight up on Kobe the whole series. I think they even had Ray Allen (who has never been a great defender, putting it kindly) on him a bit.

Kobe Bryant faced double teams, and lebron faced tony allen one on one frequently, stop making excuses.

To say that LeBron's team is all of a sudden terrible is a gross overreaction.

This

They were the number one team in the league then added a PF that was putting up 20/9 for NOTHING. Mo Williams was an allstar last season and he's a solid #3 option. Shaq averaged 14 PPG this series. They have shooters and solid defenders everywhere. Cavs fans were pimping this team all season. Now that they lose the entire team is garbage? bullshite.

I posted their stats. Lebron had a significantly better series and has worse teammates (and in your favor, played a worse team). I don't know what else you want to be said.

ETA: And we can agree on this, right:
Kobe is a terrible leader and when the chips are down he bitches out his teammates and quits on his team. He is a great competitor but when things turn for the worse, he is the first one to point the finger at anyone else. I'm not saying Kobe played good, I'm just saying it's not a good direct comparison.

BS he has been double, triple, and sometimes quadrupled teamed the whole series.

And I agree that Kobe is not the best leader.

I thought the Cav's had the best shooting pct in the playoffs going into the Celtics, so how is Kobe's team better? Stats say LeBron had the better team.

Crashing the lane =\= triple teams. The doubled him, but they also let him go one on one at the perimeter.

Probably because most people don't determine best team by taking a six game sample of shooting percentage statistics.

If he stepped inside the three point line they completely collapsed on him. They even doubled him a good bit outside the three point line.

Also guarding anyone one on one on the perimeter is all that's needed.

Wtf game were you watching? Lebron saw double teams every time he touched the ball inside the 3pt line.

And in the 08 finals when Kobe got into the lane I bet you the celtics collapsed. All I'm saying is Kobe was guarded largely the same as lebron and put up worse stats against a better defense.

Wait, you're saying Lebron didn't get doubled much in THIS series?

And more than Kobe did?

Holy shite!!! That's the newest most unbelievable post I've EVER read.
