Look at all of this bickering we still have on public forums, that lets you know I still have a lot of work to do.

Lol the people that see white privilege as an insult are always the people who benefit from it most

I don’t see it as an insult and I don’t really care. Some people do use the term as justification for their lack of success when laziness is often the real culprit. Other people are pointing out some things that should be more equal.

But life is hard for everyone regardless of color. Cancer, deaths, car accidents, depression, money troubles, mental illnesses, alcoholism, drug abuse, losing a child and many more things don’t care what color you are.

I’m late to this thread but there’s a whole lot of ignorance, hypocrisy, and irony up in here.

Carry on.

Yeah, those things aren't biases, but people are

He needs to take a page out of Jordan's playbook, stay out of politics.
The problem with athletes is as soon as they get themselves out of poverty through sports they don't give a damn about the people they left behind.

I mean dude is backing his mouth up. He might not mean anything to a white-privileged 40 year old man. But to urban youth and most specifically these 3rd graders he is giving a future too, he is their lifeline

There are other lifelines. Education. Hard work.

My advice to the youths would be to strive to better your own lives and not count on a basketball player.

I'd bet more kids look up to him over our current prez and I'd say with confidence he'd be a better role model.

well being that he preaches those things to them I'd say he's a good role model. You can't be mad because a black kid relates to him over you or any other white person

Exactly. People seem to not understand tribalism isn’t “racism.” Great article years ago on ESPN, of all places, about tribalism. A white kid in Boston buying a Scalabrini jersey doesn’t mean he hates black people he just can’t grow up to be Pierce but maybe he can be a tall arse ginger.

I don’t believe this at all. The problem is the demographic you are talking about, without stating it, often doesn’t know the most effective way to help the people in the area they grew up.

Lebron’s business team is comprised of people he grew up with.

That's not a ridiculous comparison. LeBron is a top 5 NBA player of all time. In all honesty he's my number 3 behind Michael and Kareem.

It's a bit surprising how quickly people on here are quick to speak blindly on topic that they could easily google.

I mean from posters saying no one would know who Lauren Ingraham was if Lebron didn’t respond even though he only responded AFTER it blew up, to posters saying Lebron doesn’t contribute to society, to posters saying he doesn’t mean anything to anyone, and now a poster saying he left behind the people he grew up with.........I am not surprised at all that people just shite on those they don’t like. Uninformed opinion and all

Crazy thing is, as a family man and father, Lebron is a top notch role model. But he believes in something posters here don’t, which is neither violent, criminal in nature, or damaging imo. oh the horror of not being able to relate to someone
