It's true based on what? The records are similar but Houston has a superior margin of victory, better perimeter defenders, a better front line, and is 5-9 in games decided by 5 points or less whereas New Orleans is 9-5. Houston is better than their record, New Orleans is worse than their record.

As for how they'd do against the Lakers... Rockets 0-3 Hornets 1-3... yeahhh, neither stand much of a chance, but I'd give the Rockets a slightly better chance on account of the fact that they play defense, have a low post scorer, and have Battier/Artest to "contain" (not that they did it well tonight) Kobe.

As for how the Rockets and Hornets have done head to head... 1-1.

Yeah.... not seeing much conclusive evidence here that the Hornets have a better chance of making the WCF than the Rockets.
