This is what you call a statistical outlier. We don't ban cars due to car accidents (statistical outliers) so we should not cancel sports because of this case of myocarditis that isn't even confirmed to be Covid related.

Unfortunately we as a country have been closing businesses and ruining lives over statistical outliers so nothing would surprise me.

Johnson has been diagnosed with acute myocarditis, which is also known as heart inflammation, a condition that is believed to occasionally result from certain cases of the virus.

Myocarditis can be due to numerous viruses, influenza, RSV, etc. No responsible healthcare professional would automatically assume this is COVID-related. Really irks me that they're tying COVID to this. Not saying it's impossible, but the timeline doesn't make much sense.

So have you. You couldn't wait for someone to bring it up so you could complain about it.

Know what Jay...you're right....I couldn't wait. Been enduring the Covid sports media mafia for 8 months with the "Why are they even trying to play? They are putting lives at risk! It's ridiculous they are even trying! Starting with Buster Olney's 5% chance they even start playing an 0% chance there's a World Series and on an on through dozens of sports and tens of thousands of athletes playing without anything of the sort their fear-mongering foretold happening. Then this happens to Johnson and they rage..as Alt pointed out and I agree...not because they really care in a true sense...they want to say I told you so and look at me how good I am.

I'm glad Keyontae seems to be improving and was able to go home. I hope he doesn't have to listen to people like you politicize his situation too much over the holidays.

I'm glad Keyontae is improving too...that was very scary to watch and it stopped me in my tracks when I saw it. But I assure you I have nowhere near the means and opportunity to politicize anything an a message board in a thread that maybe 50 people read my post. These media wags have over a 1000 times more of an audience and endless times more opportunities to spread their politicizing fear-mongering and have been and will continue too.

More athletes have died and come close to death from heat exhaustion in the past 8 months than Covid-19 including one high school kid here locally. Yet the usual suspects keep running out their self-serving virtue signaling narratives disguised as real concern.

So you are right, I couldn't wait.
