I agree, but it has reached a new level in the past 5 or 10 years and that is hard to argue. I am sure some of these old school coaches hate the thought of having to go kiss arse to some HS kid that hasn't done shite, but thinks he is the GOAT. Recruiting has gotten out of hand, and it's getting to the point where it is hurting these young men by inflating their self worth.

Many sports yes.

Football, hell no. There are very few high schoolers if any that could handle the rigors of the NFL straight out of high school. Physically, mentally and emotionally.

Agreed.

I can think of maybe 10 that could've made the jump since I've been following recruiting for the last 15ish years.

Guys like Adrian Peterson or Julio Jones. Don't think any linemen are physically ready though.
