What are you talking about? Meriweather is lining up the hit the minute he sees the throw once he does that and sees Heap go up there is no turning back.

no way he gets suspended, but it should definitely draw a fine

this OULSU guy and the Pitt guy are clearly 15 or 16 years old and never played football in their life. They have no clue what a good tackle is. "TKO"???

i think it was mortensen who mentioned yesterday that refs were told to start ejecting players for flagrant hits like those

i think a suspension is highly unlikely, but maybe not entirely out of the question

Is that why all the Patriot players throw up their arms like, "WTF are you doing you moron?" Because it was a dumbshit play.

jesus, both hits were as dirty as they get. harrison intentionally lowered his head at the last second on the cribbs hit and obviously the massaquoi hit was cheap

Even the most avid Steelers fan would have to admit that. Just cheap as shite. Chicken shite really. These guys always act badass on the hits where they are not at risk. You never see them go head to head with a guy like Hillis in the open field.

i pray he gets a HUGE fine and hopefully suspended.

The unbelievable thing is that he didnt even get a penalty on either play!!

I played football from 10 years old until my junior year in HS. Also none of these are situations where you are trying to tackle these are guys separating man from football. I have heard Mike Golic, Cris Carter and Rodney Harrison all speak on the issue, all agree that helmets are going to hit when separating the man from the football.

i dont know his full history, but he would need to be a repeat offender to get suspended.

it took the NFL to suspend Rodney Harrison like 6 fines before he was suspended one game. Not sure if anyone else has ever been suspended for flagrant hits

Harrison's job wasn't to tackle in either situation Cribbs was already wrapped up and the other guy was trying to catch the ball in both situations you HIT them and separate them from the ball not form tackle

What in the hell are you talking about?? Hitting someone in the head isn't the best way to seperate a ball from someone, especially with the Massaquoi hit where a chest shot does the same thing. Players are taught to hit in the chest or strip the ball to try to force fumbles; where are you getting the info that illegal spears = good strip technique???

You are the worst poster on this or any other sports board and its really not that close!

Accidents happen, sure, but Harrison's hits were clearly intentional. And again, helmet to helmet hits are not taught as a fumble forcing technique. The fact that you keep going back to that proves you've never played.

"I thought Cribbs was asleep," said Harrison, the 2008 NFL Defensive Player of the Year. "A hit like that geeks you up -- it geeks everybody up -- especially when you find out that the guy is not really hurt -- he's just sleeping. He's knocked out, but he's going to be OK. The other guy, I didn't hit that hard, to be honest with you. When you get a guy on the ground, it's a perfect tackle."

so james thinks someone isnt really hurt when they get knocked out?

Cribbs must of shorted Harrison on a bag of weed back at Kent to receive such a punishing hit

Massaquoi was looking down trying to catch the ball, therefore his head was in front of most of his chest. Harrison did his job both times.

Really? That's what you come back with?? Sorry but the more I watch that hit, the worse it looks. Harrison still could have hit him in the chest. There is no getting through to you huh??

Harrison committed a foul on players who were either going down already (Cribbs) or defenseless (Massaquoi; and when I watch that again he was clearly dropping the ball. A sure tackle would've stopped a completion there.)

I keep going back to it because it is true. Guys hit what they can Harrison's hits were extremely effective... and yes he did intentionally hit them and try and make them drop the ball and it helped his team win.

So Harrison should not try and hit him and cause a fumble because he was going down? He is also supposed to assume that he was going to drop the ball?

Was this your coach?

"TKO, son! Lead with your helmet. I don't care if you can't walk any longer, as long as you separate the MAN FROM THE BALL!!!!"

yeah, of course. But when you repeatedly do it, you are going to get fined, then suspended.
