That is utterly false. The warriors coasted the last three years with Kevin. This Houston sqaud was just a count hair behind the greatest team in league history. They coast in reg season too. Vet teams that are contenders don’t have anything to play for in the regular season. And even less during the dog days portion.

A “regular season team” is one that plays hard in the regular season and then loses out in the playoffs when other teams match their effort. Spurs are a good example. And grizzlies in the grit era.

Milwaukee had home court and lost to Toronto. In round two Denver had home court and lost to Portland. Etc etc. the better teams won even tho they did not have home court. This is a recurring theme.

Boom has said a lot of dumb shite in this thread but the dumbest statement was the op saying Harden is a top 5 player.

the morant thing happened because harden was more worried about morant taking him to the hole than winning.
Harden was six feet off him.
Guys get pretty good if you let them shoot without trying to cover them.

Maybe harden thought morant would choke.

But two years ago we were discussing harden as "matador" defender.

its on the coach.

Coach d: james im going to cut your minutes. We need you to change your game.

1. Play defense as best you can, every play.
2. Move without the ball. No more standing around.

The Spurs have been done since timmy left. Reg season team refers to spurs once Tim left his prime. They gonna win a lot of reg season games and make the playoffs bc they play hard. Play D. Ie a regular season team. But they have no chance to make any noise in the playoffs once the other sqauds match their effort level.

Nba is a player league. If hardwn wants mike our, Mike is out.

Re: move without the ball.

No mike specifically wants harden to stand out there. Bc he is taking away the best opposing defender and allowing russ to go 4 on 4 with ample space. That is a huge advantage for the offense to have that much space. Bc you just can leave James.

Coach Mike D’Antoni discussed Harden’s off-ball play with The Athletic, emphasizing that defenders never help off of him and that he would not like Harden to move around off-ball with the way defenses are playing. “Where to go?” D’Antoni said on the reason he would not want Harden to move around with how teams are defending him. “I mean, are you going to get into Russell’s way? Russell’s going to the hoop. So just stand there. If they come off, he’s going to catch-and-shoot. But to move around and run around and get him tired for no reason? No. You can’t make James more efficient, I don’t think, than what he is. I think it’d just wear him down.”
