i missed all the pre-fight stuff.

Antonio Tarver being a voice of reason, good for him. I hope someone sits Vazquez down and tells him to stop now.

That fight was probably going to get stopped after that round anyways, IMO. That cut over his left eye is HUGE. Haha, as I am typing this, the announcers say its one of the worst cuts they've ever seen. It wouldnt have lasted too much longer and the ref ruled that one was caused by a punch, so the end was coming soon regardless.

He walked into the ring with a mouse and it was pink. I wouldnt have let this fight happen.
California Athletic Commission effed this one up, they should have called the fight this morning.

If Vazquez fights again, no matter the resting period, he's most likely going to cut.
I'd just prefer to forget that happened as it was so unlike the first three. Nothing against Marquez, he did what he had to do (and is still a viable fighter) and he could have easily gotten the decision in the third fight.

I am just puzzled why the Athletic Commission didnt do anything. I am not blaming Marquez at all. I loved the fight and the outcome. But just unsure what the motive is for Vazquez's adivsors (besides money) for letting him enter the ring tonight in that shape.

Can't beleive vasquez was allowed to fight. Marquez did what he was supposed to do but that scar tissue is scary bad.

Money.
if they call off the fight because of Vazquez's eye, Vazquez misses out on this payday, Marquez misses out of this payday, all of the undercard fighters miss out because they couldn't still have this fight card without that main event...
Gary Shaw loses out and has to refund a shite load of money.
the athletic commission still gets paid a little bit, but they miss out on a big payday...
and i'm sure Vazquez was ready to fight regardless, the dude is a warrior.

Marquez said Vic Darchinyan was a possible fight for him next. That too would be an amazing fight. Darchinyan hits like a train for those lighter divisions. Id be pumped if that ever happens.
Vazquez should consider retiring. 3 eye surgeries already, one being for a detached retina. No doubt he will need surgery after this fight. He has all of the heart in the world, but eventually enough is enough.

He wasnt ready to fight because of the eye. I am never questioning Vazquez's heart, as I called him a warrior in earlier post. But I really question the CAC and his advisors. They could have still had undercard. Showtime would have shown it and they would have moved the card somehow.
