First spare me your Saints’ horseshite. I know you hate him.

Will have 10 straight 1,000 yard seasons to start his career after this season.

Over 11,000 career receiving yards.
737 receptions
90 TDs
Super Bowl Champion.

Still some of this season to go of course.

ETA: Saints fricktards out in full force.

His numbers would be even better if he didn't play us twice a year for his entire career.

Explain

There are guys with better numbers than he has right who aren't in the HOF and there are guys with better careers who weren't first ballot guys.

Andre Johnson
Steve Smith
Tim Brown
Marvin Harrison
Isaac Bruce
Chris Carter

etc weren;t first ballot selections

The only first ballot WRS since 1995 have been Calvin Johnson, Randy Moss, and Jerry Rice. Mike Evans is not going to be a first ballot player. With 2-3 more productive seasons, he has an argument to make the HOF

He’s only 30, he’ll make the HOF.

There's only been two other people posting and you're already crying.
Why'd you even ask the question if you just wanted a yes?

When Evans goes to Houston next year and wins a Super Bowl with Stroud and DeMeco, he will cement his HOF status.

Nearly all HOF receivers played into their mid to late 30s

ok, so Mike Evans will have to do that, too, to make the HOF right? I said if he has a few more productive seasons, he'll have an argument to get in but wouldn't be a HOF player if his career ended today. What exactly are you arguing here?

I also said he wouldn't be a first ballot guy because he won't. I told you why. The three guys who have recently were unquestionably the best receivers of their generation. Evans isn't even close to that guy. He has ONE second team all-pro in his career. That's not a first ballot resume. And these career volume numbers are going to mean less and less with the way the game is played now.

That he’s clearly a HOF receiver barring a catastrophic injury.

Not having a single all pro year probably kills his chances at first ballot. Might get a look later on if he continues to play at this level for a few more years.

eta: my mistake he’s had one 2nd team all pro year. Still not good enough for first ballot.

I suppose you're completely unaware of the backlog of HoF-worthy WRs trying to get inducted.

He's borderline for even just a nomination at this point, absolutely no chance he's inducted first ballot.

Andre Johnson is way ahead of him in every category except touchdowns, and he is still trying to get in.

Or barring him losing it, which happens to good players all the time. When they lose it, it comes fast. With the numbers receivers are putting up in this generation, I think a good number for a HOF receiver will be in the 15,000+ career yards area to feel great about getting in. Evans will need 3-4 more really good seasons to get there, and there's no guarantee, even without a catastrophic injury, that he will.

Andre Johnson has 14,000+ yards and hasn't gotten in yet

That’s fair, but I think it’s not out of the realm. He his a model of consistency. If he ends up with 15,000 receiving yards. It would be hard to argue against him.

Which is stupid. He is clearly a HOFer.
