I know the only reason this is even a discussion is because he's a rookie while caberea is a vet and people love outdated random collection of stats such as the TC.

It's not like Cabrera is leading the league in OPS by 50 fricking points or anything...

Also, I've seen the whole "Miggy had a whole month on Trout" thing spun as a positive argument for Trout as MVP, but that type of presumption is dangerous.

What if Trout's speculative April was more like his September? His rate stats would all decline and Miggy's offensive superiority becomes prevalent.

It's just a bad thing to use in any argument.

I know Phil Mickelson sued people who spoke about him online so I am not going to say if I think Mike Trout is using pain pills again and that is what is causing his slump. I would also never accuse him of using them during the Fall League in Scottsdale last year which made him play like shite. Some insiders may try to say the reason he didn't start the year in MLB is because had "the flu" and lost 20 pounds during spring training while others may say "the flu" was really him going thru withdrawals. Just to be clear I don't believe anything I just wrote and do not have any inside info confirming what happened in my hometown during the Fall League and Spring Training so please don't sue me Mike :-)

so you saying he relapsed from some supposed drug problem? I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that the MLB schedule is more grueling than the minor leagues. Also considering rookies often "hit a wall" I think many assumed or thought that he would fall of his torrid pace at some point.

Haha. I got you. I sure hope he doesn't turn into Josh Hamilton...you know not the stud baseball player part but the other part.

It's not just WAR that calls Jones far inferior to Trout defensively. Pretty much every metric on fangraphs has him well behind Trout.

Outfielders do more than just catch fly balls. Your arguments are good enough you don't have to resort to silliness like that. I personally like fangraphs's WAR and defensive metrics more than B-R. Their D ratings seem more realistic to me.
