If he died it would have been a one or two day thing, this is way worse. Also, him getting fired is the smalled story....the rape of possibly hundreds of children is why everyone is so upset.

To hell with that child rapist enabler. Why should anyone feel the least bit of sympathy for Paterno? Did someone shove their dick up his arse as well?

If Paterno was an average citizen that got caught not only covering up a child being raped, but also allowing the rapist to continue his evil, you think losing his job is the worst thing that would come of it?

They ought to lock his old arse up for being an accomplice along with the rest of those evil animals who also helped to sweep it under the rug.

And to be clear, they weren't hiding this stuff to protect Sandusky or the football program--these are not stupid "men"(and I use that term loosely). They were doing it to protect one another and/or some perverted booster(s).

For all anyone knows, there may be several pedophiles that have operated on that campus for several decades.

My son plays junior high football--and if I even thought for a second that any one of those coaches, parents, faculty, janitors, etc even so much as looked at him in that way, I'm just going to have to hope that God forgives me for what I do to them.

That's why I always talk to him--just to get a feel of what's going on when I'm not around.

We've got to protect our kids and let them know that they are priority number one.

Or else they'll grow up feeling abandoned and neglected--like those poor boys that Sandusky (and Lord knows who else) raped.
