If any fanbase should understand the boost OSU got yesterday, it's LSU's

we've seen how winning a conference title game against a quality opponent can shoot you up in the rankings
...twice
let us not turn our backs on our own team's history

Tcu finished their heavy lifting way too early for sure. They haven't added to their resume in a month.

What makes them a quality opponent now?

they obviously did better than i predicted
i was right about northwestern
wrong about nebraska, and close about iowa

I posted in that thread, I was pretty close.
The point is we all posted that they werent a great team, but would rack up wins in the weak Big 10.

it was more about their luck of the draw and their division than the conference in whole. they avoided OSU and MSU in the regular season
OSU beat MSU, so that helps their schedule argument
and OSU did OK against Wisconsin
wisconsin isn't a top 5 team, but it's not a nobody

Better than most of the teams on the TCU and Baylor schedules.

yeah on this board it's hard to have a team get a "quality win" over a non-SEC West opponent

i don't disagree with you…but the whole mantra of the BCS (and presumably) this system was to avoid awarding the hot team at the end. if you flip the VT game to last night and the Wisc game to September, does OSU still get in?
And i agree with you on LSU 2003…but not 2007. we looked pretty average against a mediocre Tenn team. i think the body of work got us in more than anything.

i don't think this has anything to do with it.

obviously if OSU got that sort of QB play, that game would have been different. also you have to imagine OSU would already be an undefeated big10 champ with 12 wins going into that VT game. they'd have been a clear #1 in the rankings. would a close loss due to a recent QB injury drop them to 5? doubtful
i mean even in the BCS, we saw a handful of teams lose their last game and make the final 2. OSU would be right there

same applies to OSU
getting that 13th game + another good win + being crowned a champ does make a difference
