The Browns set a bad precedent with the Watson contract it was universally criticized by every NFL owner pretty much and based on the small sample size that we saw from Deshaun Watson in Cleveland he doesn't appear worthy of that contract and neither does Lamar Jackson ever since his MVP season his play has declined and he's been injury prone.

The other side of the coin is that agents now have that as a negotiating/leverage tool, and you can believe that the players are going to disregard the fact that it was a stupid contract. They just want to get paid
