Hopefully Burrow doesn’t tie up the franchise with a massive contract that screws the franchise.
And yet why do I believe that all Burrow and his agent can see is that new salary cap limit?

He has 10-15 years to make as much money as possible.
It's hard to find an all-pro at every position unit. San Fran has done it and they've got shite to show for it. He isn't guaranteeing anything by taking less money. He needs to be paid what the market dictates and then decide in 10 years if he wants to take a paycut for a run at a super bowl if he doesn't have one yet.
Imagine your boss sending you an email and asking you to take a pay cut. He says a few of your subordinates have offers from another company to leave but your company doesn't want to lose them, but they can only pay them enough to keep them if you take a paycut. Sounds dumb as shite doesn't it. Well football is a job for these guys
The chiefs have won a super bowl with a mid defense and are playing for another one with a mid defense and a WR corps consisting of MVS and Kadarius Toney and a group of tier 3 running backs. The Bengals have a top 5 roster in the league and haven't won a super bowl with it. Same with the Bills. It's hard to do. If I'm Burrow i'm taking the money and trusting my ability to will them to a superbowl. Brady did it. Rodgers did it.

Needs to be smart and go the Tom Brady 2.0 route. He’ll still make plenty but keep a team around him.
unless he wants to retire early. Play a few years, have frick around money and retire. Like Andrew Luck

He would be wise to take a team friendly contact especially with how cheap the owner is.
Lol if you think Mike Brown would spend to bolster the roster.

This is such a played out narrative. The Bengals are routinely at or above the median average for league salaries. Lazy take.

Not a single All Pro player, first or second team. Burrow and Chase were the only Bengals to even receive a handful of votes, except for the punt returner who got one random vote

I think the Bengals roster isn’t as deep as you think. You guys think Eli Apple is the worst cornerback in the league and he was the Bengals #1 for the last half of the season after Awuzie was lost for the season.

he should run his contract down and sign with another franchise like the cowboys.
