That used to be RARELY used...and only when ND was a HUGE underdog...and usually just for USC if USC was ranked #1 and Notre Dame was having a pitiful season.

Then fricking Ty Willingham brought them out against Boston College. In a game Notre Dame was heavily favored and undefeated.

Then in 2005 ND was ranked #8 in the nation and faced #1 USC and in Charlie Weiss first year, he brings out the green jerseys like a buffoon and jinxed them ever since.

They then wore them again in 2007 against USC and lost 38-0.

Ty Willingham fricked the magic of the jerseys and Weis got greedy. I mean, wearing the green jerseys against an average Boston College team?
