I've said this before but sports to me is nothing more than entertainment. There are certain players I root for and certain ones I root against - some rationally, some irrationally.

I can admit that Lebron is probably the best player in the league and I do enjoy watching him play when he's in the zone, but there is just something about him that rubs me the wrong way, whether it's the immaturity or the lack of humility. I'd be lying if I said I didn't feel a sense of schadenfreude when he loses.

Not trying to do anything with it. Unless an athlete is a total pos off the court i judge whether i like them or not based on their game. What they do off the court is irrelevant to me.

Ask the millions of conservatives who "hate" Obama. Or the millions of Americans who dislike people from the Middle East when they have had little to no interaction with them ever. Or people who dislike certain geographical areas based on stereotypes without actually visiting there.

Jesus christ are you that dumb? There are thousands upon thousands of human emotions that are based purely on irrationality. To say the only time something/someone can be "hated" is when it personally affects you may be the dumbest thing I've seen posted on here in a long time.

Er. He's the President of the United States. He tends to make some decisions that effects everyone in the United States.

That's fine for you, and great but why should everyone else live by your sensibilities? Why does someone have to be personally affected to have to sports hate a athlete?

Obama was hated well before he ever set foot into office by some. They were convinced he was a muslim who was going to turn us into a communist regime. That's better suited for the poli board, but you know damn well I'm right.

I'm just saying if you're going to take that angle, the President of the United States not effecting people's lives is probably not the route to take.

Everyone in the world is affected by the US president.

You can be personally affected by things you see on the news.

I knew nobody that died in 9-11. You probably didn't, either.

Now ask yourself if you were affected by 9-11.

See how it works now?

Absolutely false.

You can't have an emotion about anything without being personally affected by that thing.
