how does the AAC compare to the old Big East?

Because the old Big East produced some damn good teams that would have been in 4 team playoffs during the BCS era, such as the Miami teams, the great Michael Vick Virginia Tech team, and Brian Kelly's Cincinnati teams

The AAC has USF, UConn, Cincy, and Temple who were all in the Big East...

Not close to the Big East with VT/Miami/BC. Prob reasonably comparable but worse than the most recent Big East before it folded (with Rutgers, Pitt, WVU, Ville, etc.)

It's literally the old CUSA.

The old Big East is (mostly) part of the ACC.

The current CUSA is the old Sun Belt.
