I am not sure where else to put them. They should be ahead of Ohio State who is like 14. No problem being ahead of Florida (who had a similar loss). I would probably put USF above them, but it doesn't matter...if USF wins out they are in the NC game.

Over and undefeated OU/TEXAS/Mizzu/Texas Tech/Ok st and an undefeated LSU/Alabama/Vandy/Kentucky and and undefeated Penn St.
Really, you're better than that Matt, they need lots of help, and may not get in over a one loss Big 12 or SEC champ.

I think he is going on the assumption that everybody else has at least one loss - which is 90% likely to happen.

Sorry I wasn't clear grasshopper. I meant they are in over 1-loss USC so the fact USC is a spot ahead of them now is irrelevant.
Of course any undefeated BCS and maybe 1-loss SEC/Big12 goes above them.

completely agree with you there.

Jaydeaux, it's about how good you are, and you know damn well USC is a better football team than the likes of Boise and USF and Utah, so don't try to make a case for them being ranked ahead of USC.
USC's ranking is fine, nobody drops 12-13 slots for a loss even to a 1-2 unranked team.

Btw, how come nobody is bitching about Texas Tech being ranked 8th? They've played TWO 1-AA teams and everyone on their schedule is worse than Oregon State.
It seems to be biased to complain about USC's ranking but not that one.

What the frick ever.... They lost to a shitty team and that's all.
Ok with the other losses the argument for them at 9 makes sense.
I don't think the polls will treat others the same in weeks to come. if they do I'm wrong if they don't I'm right. Thanks for coming.

Texas Tech beat Nevada 35-19, who beat UNLV 49-27, who beat Arizona St 23-20, who beat Stanford 41-17, who Oregon State 36-28, Who beat USC 27-21!
See that's a fun little game you can play. You can't do that to Texas Tech because they haven't lost yet!

Oh please, we all know the transitive property doesn't work in college football.
TTU < USC

Unless you go by the results on the field.
Texas Tech hasn't lost yet, USC lost to a very bad Oregon State. You're going by what you've heard and what you thought preseason. I'm going by what I've seen this season. It's real easy to argue Texas Tech is better than USC right now. In 3-4 weeks who knows, but TT is 5-0, USC is 2-1.

Very bad Oregon St team??? Did you watch the game ? Did Oregon St. look very bad to you?
Posted on 9/29/08 at 3:06 pm to MJRuffalo
Did you see the Oregon St vs Stanford game ( i didn't but no way they looked good)? How about the Oregons St vs Penn St(yeah I saw this one)?
How about the Oregon St vs USC where USC was completely unable to stop a running back that weighes a buck fifty from running up the middle because they can't tackle?
Yes get over, Oregon State is not a good football team.

If USC was supposed to drop further then to #9 then FL who lost to an unranked team should have dropped further as well. Bottom line is it is only week 5 or 6 so shut the hell up, let it all play out then have the damn debate in november.
