HOMER, La — Despite several life-saving measures, a Homer Junior High School student died Wednesday afternoon, shortly after playing football at the school, according to Homer Police Capt. Van McDaniel.

Police say around 2:30 pm 14-year-old A’marrion Aubrey complained of breathing problems following a routine sprinting exercise.

“Coaches immediately sat him down and attempted to tend to and comfort him, as they called for an ambulance,” McDaniel said.

Aubrey was transported by ambulance to Claiborne Memorial Hospital’s trauma area, located just minutes from the junior high school.

“Hospital staff performed all kinds of life saving measures to resuscitate the child. This is such a tragic loss,” McDaniel said.

Aubrey was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the medical facility. Officials say that the teenager had no known existing medical conditions, but early reports suggest that Aubrey may have suffered from an enlarged heart. However, the official cause of death has not been confirmed at this time.

Pretty much.

A friend’s brother died suddenly in his 20s and it turned out he had some genetic heart problem which had given him one or more undiagnosed heart attacks.

He just thought he was exhausted from his job and they found out the truth in the autopsy.

Jesus Christ prayers to his family, friends and coaches. I’m sure the coaches are blaming themselves when it doesn’t sound like it was their fault.

Unfortunately, the Aubrey family is no stranger to tragedy. In 2014, A’marrion’s mother lost her life after Sam Wyrick of Homer allegedly doused her with a flammable liquid and set her on fire.

Poor kid and family.
