What if the pay isn't an issue for some? I know several who've done MS/HS football coaching because they enjoy it.

The key word is some. There are good coaches out there, and there are some great people involved in the schools. But are you denying that there are many people who would make great coaches but they refuse to join a profession that requires so much time, so many headaches, and such little pay?

In every town there are many youth baseball, soccer, basketball, and football teams coached by dads who say that they just love the game. If they love the game so much, why don't they enter the teaching/coaching profession?

Chopique is a supporter of HS and youth coaches. His comment was directed at the a-holes who are overly critical of them.

Basically this.

But I wasn't necessarily disagreeing with the original post that stated that proper technique aren't being taught at the jr high and high school level.

Rereading it, I think I reacted too harshly to your original post (although I disagreed with how it was written). This post makes more sense at least.

As for the bolded, stability is one of the concerns (even at a few HS near my area).

Researched the health and benefits of playing FB players vs non FB players. Also, completley blows up the "studies" that NFL FB players commit suicide at higher rates and die at an earlier age than the average male. Both are completly false. Also did studies comparing the health of HS FB players over a 30 yr period vs non HS players.

Did it say anything about the brain trauma associated with slamming your head into a hard object beginning at 11 years old?

Coaches and others tried without success to revive him during what Ford said was a 15-minute wait for an ambulance.

I wonder if that long arse wait had any impact on the outcome. Must have seemed like an eternity.
