I wouldn't watch the NBA if it was in my backyard. And I grew up loving it in the 80's. We're the governor's upset? They have governor's. Lol. Apparently you can't own a team in that league.

I had the Olympics on during the day and transitioned to doing some work at my workbench with them on as background noise. NBC then transitioned to the All Star festivities around 2. It was so cringey even as background noise that I put on Spotify.
The only people who watch today's NBA are teenagers or inner city folks.

Even if you buy the OP's argument, the answer from the NBA would be a collective 'Who gives a flying frick? Go.

I look at every sport and each has its problems. NBA is no different. But its still a sport that TV and thus advertisers will spend money on.
I could go into details for each one but its not worth the time. Sports are not going away and they are always cyclic.
Last year it was said small market teams in finals and will kill ratings. They did better than years prior.
