and LSU lost twice in 2007.

look, if I was an LSU fan, I wouldn't want to play Bama again. I'd feel the same as yall, why should we have to beat them again. But if they do beat yall, you can't cry for a split NC....that's just silly.

I'm not sure how you can be "National Champion" if you lose the "National Championship Game". Does not compute.

I'm not arguing with that, but all I'm saying is some AP voters will still vote LSU #1 if it's a close game.

well, actually you could especially since LSU would have the better record.

13-1 > 12-1

I love how you accuse somebody else of "retard logic" when you think a team can lose the National Championship Game and still be the National Champion. Awesome.

I know you're not. I just happened to hit "reply" after your post. There does appear to be some who are arguing that, though.

If LSU beats Georgia (Should happen), will a split NC be in place if LSU were to lose the NC game? The CBS commentators mentioned this earlier.

God please let this happen. How epic would that be

in this system?
with a better record?

of course. split it, and give me a 4 team playoff.

True, but they didn't lose to the team they played in the championship. The problem is that LSU and Bama would be 1-1, with both basically having a home loss. I know what the name of the game would be, but how would you truly decide the better team in that situation?

No matter how people want to see it, there is a huge difference between a true home game for Bama and an NC game in the Sugar Bowl for LSU.

This isn't like OSU traveling over 1,000+ miles to get to the game. Bama is near New Orleans and will have at least 40% of the tickets if that game happens.

So claiming a win on the road by LSU with a win at a real neutral site in the Sugar Bowl/BCS title game is less meaningful is retarded.

Also, the game isn't the National Championship game. It isn't even sanctioned by the NCAA. It's the BCS Title game and only determines who wins the BCS Title and nothing more.

LSU fans argue the 2003 title because LSU had the better resume versus USC in 2003. You can't compare the two since LSU will be in a similar position.

1 more win than Bama, better resume, and loss on a neutral site not at home.

Who cares...Bama isn't beating LSU in the dome. Nobody is.

so using your genius logic, then the 2007 LSU team did not really win the MNC, and only got a split at best?

you can not compare the two, i do not even know why you keep trying. its amusing really.

better record, better resume, a win at the opponents home field. those are all valid reasons for a split; like it or not.

I'm not only talking about Alabama, I'm talking about OSU as well. If they beat yall in Nola, you also believe LSU should split the MNC with them because yall will have a better record?

in that scenario, OklaSt is 1-0 vs LSU so they win the title.

alabama would be 1-1, with a worse overall record, a worse computer avg, and a home loss; certainly an argument could be made for a split.

If we lose the national championship game it will never feel like a championship season.

Most here are assuming a rematch will be played.

If Okst plays and wins they are obviously the unanimous champs but if Bama wins it gets murky

Since the BCS came into being, there is no such thing as a split championship as far as I'm concerned. Either you raise the Crystal Football with your school colored confetti falling on you or you don't.
