Really?

Because every football play would be assault/battery on the streets.

But what Gronk did had nothing to do with the game of football......

Logically, he should be charged for assault for his play, but I know he wont.

Your point? We gonna arrest boxers?

He clearly means gronks play is no where in the rules as legal. Tackling and blocking hard are in the rules. An actual assault on a defenseless player is not.

My point is that "he would be arrested on the streets for that" is a dumb saying/.

Yes. And in the streets, if we say we are going to play a game of football, I would not get in legal trouble for tackling you either.....

I mean he would though. If we play a pickup game of tackle football, and you assault me after the play, that's a crime. Tackling me during the play is not.

Never stick. It would have to cause serious injury. The only assault charges that stick are KOs. Like the hockey player high sticking the other guy from behind a few years back.

A Gronk game check will hurt more than a nuisance charge.

Needs to cost Gronk a game or two.

Hockey player was worse. In that a weapon was used (hockey stick) and he was KTFO’d. I did not see if White was knocked out or just needed monitoring because of today’s concussion environment.

Had White been touched down yet?

I don't think so. Gronk was just making sure.

I would have been perfectly fine with Gronk calling white a football player. After all, if you dress like a football player you deserve to be called one
