much of it is because of the increased velo. The harder you throw, the more elbow valgus stress there is. we have studies that have looked at this and know that but the demands of the game mean you must throw Hard AF.
but GC is also 34 years old. it happens and every march during training camp we see these things. Many times its from ramping up too quickly but in this case it could easily be GC is getting older and followed his on ramp from previous seasons and is body was not prepared for the demands and he really needed a longer on ramp.

Verlander was 39 after his TJ, came back and posted a 1.75 ERA and won another Cy Young. I’m not saying Cole will be a bionic man but TJ doesn’t cause the irreparable damage it used to from what I’ve seen

actually these is a good chance you come back better than before as the ligament is stronger. usually throw harder after
