Twelve-year-old Gerrit Cole adjusted his cap and took a deep breath as he toed the rubber. The scorching sun beat down on the dusty field in Arizona, where his travel ball team, the Orange County Thunder, was playing in the championship game of the Desert Classic. It was the biggest tournament of the summer, and scouts from college programs were already watching.

Gerrit’s dad, Mark, sat in the stands, gripping the bleachers with nervous excitement. He had thrown countless bullpen sessions with his son in their backyard, but now, it was up to Gerrit. He knew his boy had the talent—and the fire.

On the mound, Gerrit stared down the batter, a hulking kid from Texas who had already launched two home runs in the tournament. The count was full. The crowd murmured in anticipation. Gerrit dug deep, wound up, and fired a fastball that sizzled past the batter’s bat—strike three. The opposing dugout fell silent.

By the time the game reached the final inning, Gerrit had racked up ten strikeouts, but the Thunder clung to a narrow 3-2 lead. With runners on first and third, he needed one more out. His catcher, Tyler, called for the slider, the pitch Gerrit had been working on all summer. He nodded, gripped the seams, and let it fly. The ball broke late, diving toward the dirt—swing and miss. Game over.

As his teammates rushed to the mound, Gerrit grinned, wiping sweat from his brow. He had just dominated one of the toughest teams in the country. But deep down, he knew this was just the beginning. Someday, he wouldn’t just be the best pitcher at this tournament—he’d be the best in the world.

No idea Verlander had that surgery.

He can pull a Shohei and just DH this year I think he's capable of pulling it off and winning an MVP.

At least he won’t have to worry about covering first base for a while

Judge is gonna show us WHY he is MVP. Cole is great, but he’s available 30 times a year. The Punisher can punish in a nightly basis. Yankees are gonna play my Reds in the WS. Reds in 7, but Judge hits 10 homers.

Fatass Soto won’t do shite without THE JUDGE protecting him. The Punisher is about to claim yet another MVP.
