Had trouble putting on weight to get to 185. Didn't like eating all that food. Diagnosed with colitis, had vomiting problems during camp and also had some neck issue from the fight. So he has to take some time to heal and says he doesn't want to hold up the division so he's vacated the belt.

Whitaker v Luke Rockhold for title in Feb.

GSP says he'll get healthy then talk with UFC about what's next.

My money is on a superfight between him and Conor or more likely with Tryon Woodley for the 170lb belt.

GSP had zero intentions of ever defending the middleweight belt. He knew this before the Bisping fight.

Rockhold has one win in the latest two years and that was over the great David Branch. Gastelum has a right to be pissed.

I think all the adulation for Rockhold's looks has gone to his brain. Maybe he should just be a model.

It definitely seems like good looks and dating Demi Lovato equals a title shot.

Considering how title shots seem to be like drawing random numbers in the UFC these days, I'm not sure that means anything.

GSP fought Bisping because it was a great stylistic match up for him. Had it been virtually any other 185lb champ from the last 5 years he would’ve never done it.
Reminds me of when RJJ went up to HW and beat Ruiz. Ruiz was a big, slow HW with little power. RJJ knew he could out work him to a title win.

While I would normally agree with you under normal circumstances, but you have to look at the whole division first. Gastelum lost to Weidman only a few months ago. Jacare and Romero are coming off losses to the champ. Weidman lost three straight I believe before beating Gastelum. Bisping is coming off 2 straight losses and is most likely done. Only logical choice is Rockhold. Mousasi would have been a good choice if he was still in the UFC.
