Hill is facing charges of attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, having a loaded handgun, possessing a handgun, possessing a firearm as a minor, use of an assault weapon and felonious firearm use along with a charge of reckless endangerment.
This is our Criminal Justice system. The Codes are so thick, they resemble old phone books.
Dude pulled a gun on someone and tried to shoot him.
Okay attempted murder.
Instead they have to charge you for 8 crimes for 1 offense. Every element of a felony is broken down into its own separate crime.
So they can say, oh...we'll drop the other charges if you just plead guilty to attempted murder which is all they care about. It's called stacking the deck...over-charging.
