For those that did not watch ... this fact should end any/all excuses for Duke.

South Carolina shot 7-for-35 ... 20% ... in the first half.
And Duke still could not beat them.

No one considered Dook a good defensive team. Then again though, South Carolina wasn't exactly a good offensive team either.

shite, no. SoCar is HORRIBLE on offense (except the 2nd half last night, LOL).
That 20% shooting ... was mostly nice, open looks.
They just could NOT hit the broad side of a damn barn.
Said at halftime ... since SoCar was only down 10 or so ... if they could make anything in the 2nd half ... decent shot of winning.
They won pretty convincingly.

Agree. Duke should've been up 20 in the 1H. They turned it over way too much. And didn't drive to the basket in the second half. Settled for 3s while south Carolina took advantage of the officiating and drove the ball. Also was unconscious from 3. 71% total shooting percentage in the second half is insane.

Took advantadge of the refs????? So you are saying the refs cost Duke the game???? You realize how many different games Duke has won over the years BECAUSE of the refs??????

Im a Duke fan. The game was poorly officiated both ways. I SAID, South Carolina took advantage of that by driving the ball and getting to the line, while Duke finessed their way to heaving 3s. A total 180 from last weekend. Not sure where you misread

That's exactly what you said.... South Carolina took advantadge of the refs and drove the ball.... this is something Duke has gotten away with SO many times over the years it's laughable....

Which, if you look at their KenPom profiles, is exactly how these teams run their offenses. USC has a terrible shooting percentage, but they are really good at driving the line and getting to the line. I agree the officiating stunk last night both ways, but that is USC's offensive gameplan. Drive the lane and good things will happen.

Agree 100%. Im not saying the refs gave SC the game.
They went to the rim, Duke didn't. shame on them for not doing that, which was aggravating to watch especially after doing it all weekend in the ACCT.

And Duke didn't do that, which is why I was mad. Because lord knows they would get the same calls SC got. What is so hard about what Im saying?

My opinion on this is that in the 2nd half ... Duke did not want to go to the rim ... because USCe was making their fouls count.
In other words ... USCe, in my opinion, was punishing Duke with hard (but legal, clean) fouls, collisions, physical play in the first half.
Duke's fairies wanted no part of the paint with USCe.
Kotsar ... poor fellow ... couldn't hit a shot to save his life ... but that young FR was money on the defensive end.

SCar played extremely physical defense and dared the refs to call fouls, reminded me a lot of Louisville. Duke couldn't penetrate without turning it over because they had no PG. SCar defended the 3 well, Duke had to settle for long 2s. SCar did a great job of driving and drawing fouls, also couldn't miss in the 2nd half. Duke crowd was pitiful, heavily outnumbered but they shut down as soon a SCar took the lead.

Get over yourself about the touching crap..... South Carolina ripped Duke a new a-hole in the second half because the refs weren't sucking Duke arse last night.... FACT.....
