As I said on the other thread:

I hate the narrative that's built up around him, just as I hate the narrative that was built up around Mark Sanchez over the last two years, and the narrative built up around Vince Young before him.

Those three are simply not good quarterbacks, yet people are running around praising them as if they are (or were) because of "record as a starter".

I don't hate Tebow. I just think he's a horrible QB.
But he's still better than anything else that the Broncos have.

it has nothing to do with how i live my life....you and i both know that ESPN will be running this Tebow story into the ground. It's a nice "feel good" story

All I've heard from ESPN is what a hack Tebow is

Answer: Because ESPN has spent the last month asking every fomer NFL player and every "never-played but I run my mouth on tv/radio personality" if Tebow is any good? Almost unanimously they all answered, "No, Tebow is a terrible quarterback." Now after 5 games, the Broncos, which have been about the 2nd worst team in the NFL for the last two years in games that Tebow didn't start are 4-1, and back in the hunt for the division title. That's why it's a feel good story.

It's apparently just a coincidence that the Broncos are winning with Tebow at quarterback.

So you think the coaching staff puts a worse QB option on the field that hurts their chance of winning the game?

Now you're making no sense.

Is it just coincidence that the Broncos have won with Tebow this season, and they couldn't with Orton?

So by your logic, John Skelton is a better QB than Kevin Kolb.

And up until this year, Mark Sanchez was a good QB, by your reasoning.

And of course, Vince Young is a good QB...

TEAMS win games, not QBs. Denver's defense has seriously stepped it up in recent games, for example.

Tebow has played in like 8 games mostly for coaches intentionally sandbagging his development and you want to compare his 8 games as a starter to guys like VY and Sanchez who have 50+ starts

Has it occurred to anyone that he might actually improve?

Fair enough. But what about the people that are kicking and screaming, "Tebow is terrible! He can't pass! He's an embarrassment to the NFL!" Doesn't that seem a little far fetched seeing that he has had a 300 yard passing game as a pro. He led his offense to 38 points vs the Raiders. He is 5-3 as a starter with the same team that was 4-14 without him.

he hasn't shown any improvement yet.

As of right now, Tebow is a bad NFL QB. When people state that, we're called "haters". It's not "hating", it's just a fact.

Tell me, what has Tebow done to show that he's a good NFL QB?

Any player in the NFL will tell you that they want to win. He has energized the Broncos organization, you can't deny that.

It's nasty looking, but if he's part of a winning equation in Denver, what's the problem? Don't think he'll be able to drive a team 95 yards in 5 minutes to win a game, because he can't throw?

Yes, it is.

Again, the same narrative that people are having right now with Tebow is what we had with Sanchez over the last couple years and what we had with Young before that.

Crediting team accomplishments to the QB is foolish, at best.

I'm just saying he's a positive influence on the team and he has contributed in the clutch to wins. I think that's a fair assessment.

I'd still take a lot of quarterbacks before I'd take him. I think it's fascinating how polarizing he is for just playing the position differently than the great ones do it.

he's played in 8 games...8

And it is pretty well documented that he has had little support from the front office and the coaching staff

Those other guys you mentioned played on playoff teams and started over 50 games not to mention better players on offense. Tebow plays on a shite offense and while the D has improved, their overall performance this year has not been good. Basically, a shite team

Their is no way you really believe this. Almost everyone is in the NFL because they gave it they're all from a young age AND have talent.

JaMarcus Russell says hello.

They all have talent. Some have more than others. Some work harder than others. And some are able to put both together.

The rest of the game (a much larger sample, by the way), 7 out of 11 drives ended in three and out. 2 out of those 11 managed to go over 20 yards. Starting in NY territory FIVE times, they managed THREE points. On the last drive, he threw for 35 of his 104 yards passing.

You can't claim that a guy who completes less than 50% of his passes is a good QB. Period.
