not true. pacman sold 700K ppvs fighting joshua clottey (who most haven't heard of). he can still fight cotto, berto, mosley, amir kahn, timothy bradley, rematch with jmm, etc. and still make big money on ppv.

Manny will be remember as a great fighter but unless he fights and beats Floyd he's nothing special.

you're crazy. manny has beaten common opponents de la hoya and hatton better than mayweather.

Nothing special? Pacquiao is the only fighter who has held a title in 7 different weight classes.

I think that's pretty special.

Cool. He also has multiple losses and no marquee wins. I'll give you Floyd has no real marquee wins but he also doesn't have multiple losses.

Boxing needs this fight more than Floyd & Manny do.

Manny needs this fight more than Floyd does...

the testing that Floyd is asking for isn't unreasonable. both fighters would be subjected to the same testing. Both fighters would be proven clean. in this day and age, that's what every sport needs.

with that being said, when this fight happens next year, Mayweather by Unanimous Decision.

it may be fact.. but what i'm saying is if floyd wants to continue to fight.. he won't have the same kind of interest here on out unless it is manny. his PPVs at this point will not draw the same interest. casual fans that enjoyed the fight tonight, will not be ordering floyds next fight unless its manny.

If they both retired right now Floyd's legacy would be much stronger than Manny's and that is a fact.

Floyd was way better than Mosley tonight. I'm saying from the entrance on.. Mosley didn't have that look on his face. He didn't seem to even have a chip on his shoulder. Even the commentator, Emmanuel, touched on the subject.

What did tonight prove?

that he can beat a legitimate top ranked welterweight

that old man is faster AND better than 95% of the top ranked welterweights.

Duh, and if Manny wants to continue to fight.. he won't have the same kind of interest here on out unless it is Floyd. Like I said earlier, it's the only real fight out there for either of them at this point.

manny has a shite ton more fights.. and yes he has like 3 losses.. but he is a guy who continues to get better.. that's the scary part. he hasn't even peaked. manny is no where near the same "boxer" as he was back then. if he fought those fights where he is at today.. he would dominate those losses.

Nobody, except Max Kellerman, give two craps about seeing Manny fight anyone but Floyd.

i agree.

all this is doing is stirring up more and more interest. maybe both camps know what they are doing. i'm just not getting my hopes up for it happening.

Mosely wanted nothing to do with Mayweather after Floyd started countering.

here's something to ponder...

Mosely is slower, but he's more cautious and is more defensive oriented than Pacquiao...

With Pacquiao's barrages of punches, he'll leave a lot more openings... and Mayweather will find those openings.

I'm not trying to take anything away from Manny, he's obviously a great fighter which is why me and everyone else in the world wants to see this fight. I'm just saying at this point they have proven to be far superior to anyone else out there and there is no point in them continuing to fight unless it's going to be against each other.

Bingo. Both of these guys can continue to make great money and a comfortable living taking the fights they have been taking. Who makes more through that span is moot, they'll both be wealthy beyond their means.

I hope they find a way to meet somewhere along the lines and get it done. Regardless of who is at fault, boxing fans will be left flat all around if they never see the two best boxers of this era get it on.

given the fact that manny fought joshua clottey ( who most people don't know and held no real threat to manny) and sold 700k ppv buys, you don't know what the hell you're talking about

That fight was gay as hell from the time it was signed until the time it was finished and everyone knows it. If you wasted your money on that you are a fool.

i feel you.. but that goes both ways.. when has floyd fought a boxer with similar speed and power? never.. so it goes both ways.. it is why it would make for an interesting fight to see.

i agree it was a boring fight, and i stick with my original statement that people will watch pacman no matter if he fights floyd or not. It's not the same the other way around.

I guess we can safely assume there are 700k Phillipino households in the U.S. then. Somebody tell the census save them some time and money.
