I can't find the post/comment now, but someone mentioned "...not knowing what to think..." about Williams afrer watching the documentary. I see a guy that is manaical and loves his F1 pursuit, to the detriment of his family and emotional relationships. I also see a huge introvert, who'd rather interact with a carbeorator than a human being. He may have been on the spectrum. It doesn't make him a bad guy.

Maybe the F1 experts can comment if I'm missing something.

Williams still makes a lot of money.

His daughter is running the company.

He is an engineer...you met any normal engineers?

Some, but I agree with your point.

I'm in the 75% that's good at what I do but not pssionate and maniacal about a pursuit. Its cool to get at least a limited perspective for those who can't sleep at night because of what they're doing. I've done more than fine in my life but I've never had something comsume me like Williams and others.

(edit) texting from a phone so excuse the fat fingers.

She is so hopelessly out of her league.

The team was well on it's demise before her. Mercedes engine saved them one year and now Merc sending Paddy that way has apparently fricked the team.

I would love to hear the behind the scenes the last 18-24 months.

I'm not defending her, definitely to blame.

I made that post. Yes he’s fanatical. He also shows nearly no emotion to his family. It’s like they’re an afterthought after all they went through before and after his accident.

Active suspension that wasn’t up to par.

You can either blame cold tires or the steering column.

Cold tires sent him off.
Steering column collapsed and killed him.

Italian courts put people on trial for it and there was tons of investigations done. Not saying they don't share some blame, but the 'coverup' angle has been played out for years.

Good, but the directors take some liberties.

Prost wasn't near as bad as they make him out to be. And Senna wasn't exactly the saint he is made out to be.

Good documentary overall though.

They are a shadow of their former selves. The daughter runs the team, but they're about 6th or 7th if I ranked all of the teams. The pink Force India queers regularly beat them.

Back in the day, they showed endless shots of Frank Williams during races, but they never mentioned him in a negative way. At least, not that I saw. I never read the F1 tabloid press, so I don't know what was said pr by whom.

He certainly wasn't regarded as such during his lifetime. He was a manipulative SOB, which makes him par for the course in F1.
