That means the girl made it through the entire season without society being incurably outraged by her, so she obviously doesn't make a habit out of it. I think internet sensation led to this whole situation. Yes, she was wrong, but it wouldn't have been a big deal without internet culture.

I want to know why the coaches let her stay in the game after the first few things she did, they had to know something was going on, or was she the designated thug a(like in hockey) and was sent out too knock some BYU heads together.

This is an absolutely amazing fail on the part of not just the refs, but her coaches.
This sort of behavior should not have been tolerated by anyone at the game. There's a big difference between playing hard and playing to injure. Her own coaches should have pulled her off.
