What's the connection there? Is there someone at the school who is Bama's point person...the person they keep in contact with to keep up with the current or former recruits (Lacey & Collins).

I would assume that Alabama has someone living in the area keeping tabs on Collins right now.

I heard a story a few years ago about someone at the school who brought Lacey to Alabama but didnt get any names.

if only there were a recruiting board..

FYI Saban used to coach and recruit here. He knows the local coaches still.

1 current and 1 potential recruit doesn't indicate anything.

If a pattern developed, then you could pose that question.

Especially since the current player would probably be at LSU if we had offered, but we didn't because it didn't look like he would qualify.

This really is just a dumb thread. Anyone at Alabama can simply call dutchtown anytime they want and talk to the coaches about him

It's not a big deal. There is no inside man

Miles didnt want Lacy because he didnt think he'd qualify and Collins feels like his best chance to play immediately is Bama because they lose most of there secondary next year.

LSU said "No" to Lacy. Bama wanted him. Saban came and visited several times. He wound up there.

Collins is friends with both Lacy and Reid. He is a top-tier recruit, so Saban has been back to visit him.

What DB wouldn't want to play for Saban?

I posted a picture of Miles at a Dutchtown game earlier this season.

I know very little about Dutchtown, but I know we didn't off Lacy because we didn't want him.

You didn't offer Lacey because you didn't think he would get it, not because you didn't want him.

dis right hurr. don't see why people dwell on lacey so much. he's a nice back but its not like we missed on the next ingram/richardson. I'm happy with Ware, Blue, Ford, and Hilliard.

He's gonna be our starter next year. I think he can put up 1200-1400 yds.

LOL WUT!

Lacey isnt even close to Ingram or TR. I'm not even convinced Dee hart won't start next year. EL is a Good back but 1400 yards. Thats not a smart statement.

From LSU perspective, we didn't offer EL cause he was not qualified at the time. There is no connection to D Town outside of coaches recruiting the area. Landon is most likely going to LSU. He is much better friends with Eric Reid. After seeing Hilliard I like the 3 back beast in Ford, Ware, Hilliard.

Lacey will start, and 1400 yards is the high end of what I would expect from him. I don't think its all that outrageous though.

What DB wouldn't want to play for Saban?

1. LC said recently he hasn't seen Saban since Summer camps. Burton Burns has seen one of his DTown games. CLM is very present at DTown games.

2. I would imagine DBs that prefer to not be talked down to and treated like dotty shite would not want to play for NS. Upside is you get to the NFL. Other programs ca get you there too ftr.
