Don't think FGCU will be relevant again.

They have a well run athletic department so far and it's not like they're going at a high bar in the A-Sun.

You're right. The defense you played in your intramural game was the exact same one FGCU plays. My apologies

Still have no clue how one win makes a mid major coach worthy of a decenty (probably formerly) respectable program

Yet they didn't even win the A-Sun this season.

I'm sure USC's fans will get behind this hire, but I don't see it working out. I don't think the whole "Dunk City" thing is going to work consistently against teams who can play transition defense.

I mean he'll have the opportunity to get better players (USC has had talent in the past) but USC jumped the gun on this one big time.

I guess they have the frick it mindset....since nothing has worked of late, might as well take a gamble on the one-hit wonder

There was an article in the Minneapolis StarTriune today that stated that he is on the Gopher's list of possible targets.

First, it's LA.

Second, it's USC - where basketball comes a WAY distant second - often third behind Olympic sports and baseball.

So he's going to have to win regardless to put butts in the Galen center.

But, his current hipness and celebrity status helps bring buzz and USC is so down on the totem poll in the Pac 12 right now anything helps.

CBB is often a "one and done" deal, so I have no problems with SC taking a gamble on this dude. Might attract a few athletic players attracted to FGCU's tournament style to USC's program. Whatever puts butts in seats at Galen.

nice pay raise too. Going from $175k/yr to over $1M/yr is pretty sweet.
