Tackles are a dumb stat but Esch is very good

For a linebacker, its a pretty good stat. I know he is also top 5 in solo tackles as well

It’s just not kept accurately or objectively. Teams are the ones who keep the stat and defenders buddy up to the stat guys to pad the stats.

I agree, but I just check and he is 3rd in the NFL in solo tackles. Cant pad that stat

Denzel Ward looked good for this until he got hurt. With Nick Bosa coming next year the Buckeyes had a chance for four in a row.
