I grew up without Sports Center, and I never cared about watching full games until late high school. It's just an age/priority thing. I think you've got to play a sport in HS b/f you really appreciate every mundane play.

Also, at least for football, there are more play stoppages than when we were kids - between play reviews and longer TV timeouts, a normal healthy kid doesn't want to sit in front of the box for 3+ hours to get less than 60 minutes of play.
