Do conferences need to cut down on how many teams in their tournament?

Milwaukee was 11-23 and they were one win of representing the Horizon League in March Madness; they shouldn't have even been able to get as far as they did with their record

Ivy League has the right idea. Top 4 at most. Even then I would give the 1 seed an automatic bye to the final.

Make the 3 seed play the 4 seed in the first game.

Winner plays the 2 seed in the next game.

Winner plays the 1 seed for the title.

Would accomplish 2 things:

1. Prevent some shitty arse team from representing the league in the NCAA tournament

2. Give the easiest possible path for the 1 seed.

We had a 10 seed win a tourney last year, Holy Cross

Knocked out a legitimate Lehigh team from representing the Patriot League.

Top 4 means at worst you will send your 4th best team.

IA w/ u, it just looks really terrible to have someone representing your conference who has no real shot at winning

This is one of those things we talk about ever year, and it just isn't really a problem. Had Milwaukee won, that means that the #107 team wouldn't have made it. I think it's all good.

Yes

And the NCAA needs to go back to conference champs only.

1974, 25 teams... Everyone earns their way.

I don't think they should be cut down, but they should definitely be structured to give the better teams from the regular season an advantage. Giving 1st and 2nd place teams byes to the semis or something. If it's set up like that and a bottom team still wins 4 games in 4 days, tip your hat to them and let them in the dance.

Hell no that's what makes it madness. I don't give a shot who the best team in the horizon conference is. I do give a shot when I see the agony on their face when all the hard work goes down the drain cause some dude on the 7th best team in conference got hot

I remember nolens next to last year we sucked Dick loll but we had Joe Johnson and got hot at the right time and won our conference im actually pretty damn sure we were a 6 seed back when we had a east and west and there were only six seeds and we beat auburn. That was such am awesome week even more do than the final fours cause we knew we were final four good in 94-95 we were absolute dog shite the year we won the sect

They should do it like bowling on TV... 4 plays 3, winner plays 2, and then winner plays 1 for the auto bid...
