Nah. Rose gets the credit for defense and rebounding cause he has PUT THE TEAM ON HIS BACK!!!!
Posted on 3/23/11 at 4:44 pm to shel311
If LeBron is so great then why does he have a worse record with a better supporting cast?

Posted on 3/23/11 at 4:47 pm to GamecockAlum
Because he didn't PUT THE TEAM ON HIS BACK!!!!!!
I don't know, maybe he should shoot a significantly lower FG% and play worse defense and be less efficient, then his team would be better and he'd get more MVP consideration. That's the basic argument lol.

Really don't know how he didn't win the MVP in the 93-94 or 94-95 seasons

LOLWUT?!?!
So the Bulls overall team defense got better yet Rose's defense got worse?

As for his shooting percentages, it probably has a lot to do with the fact he was taking more shots then he would normally have to. Generally speaking, PGs aren't going to have high field goal percentages anyways, but I do love how you ignore the fact that he is shooting better from 3 point range AND from the free throw line. Not to mention that he is averaging nearly 2 more assists per game than last year and about a half a steal more per game.
Oh and if you bother to get your facts straight, you'd know that Rose is shooting 44%, not 43%. For a guy who overly relies on stats for his arguments, you sure don't bother to keep up to date on them.

The field mouse was comparing Lebron to Rose, not Rose this season to Rose last season. He was saying that Lebron is a better defender.

File that under no shite.
No one is disputing that LeBron is a better overall player. Hell no no biased sports fan would say that LeBron isn't at worst the second best basketball player on the planet, but jsut because he is a top 2 basketball player does not mean he's the Most valuable player in the league to his team's success.
No one player has meant more to his team this year than Rose.

But since Peyton Manning is the best player in the NFL, he should be the MVP every single year, even if Tom Brady has an unbelievable statistical season with incredible efficiency and no turnovers.
Right?

Dirk means at least as much to his team

Eh, there are 4 realistic MVP candidates.
Howard
Rose
Nowitzki
James

you and ghazi are the only ones saying dirk should be mvp.
Posted on 3/23/11 at 9:06 pm to lsutigernosaint
I'm a Rockets fan, I hate Dallas. Dirk has a case for mvp
Posted on 3/23/11 at 9:06 pm to H-Town Tiger

Right?
Different sports bruh.
And no I do not agree with that sentiment - although I would have given Peyton MVP this year and Brady OPOY.

A lot more than 3. He's having one of his best seasons, shooting 53%.
Their record without Dirk is pitiful. Their 2nd best player is an old Jason Terry and they are going to win 55 games.

I just think, for whatever reason, he's a player that people love to hate. Maybe it's his attitude, I don't know.

Because he eats gummy bears? He's always seemed like a humble guy. Competitive, but not arrogant or anything.

I like him, but it seems like a lot of people don't, for whatever reason.

Well for me it boils down to what you had for help. The Mavs did have injuries, but personally I'd say Kidd, Marion, and Terry are the Mavericks' next three best players, and combined they've only missed 2 games.
Also, Nowitzki has subtlely been taking less shots this year as well which also hints at the fact that even though he is the Mavericks primary shot taker, it's not as wide of a gap as it wasn't was between him and the next shooter.
