hey man, i wish I could get out of it. but when you do contract work on location for a month you don't exactly get vacation or sick days.

I'm serious about shite like this. My niece's first birthday fell on Derby day and I said, "Your bad, Uncle Bho won't be at the party." When my wife and I started trying, we actually planned around the triple crown and a few other things. His birthday is Jan 20. My brother is getting married on Belmont day and I told him they better do it early or else i'm walking out at post time.

interesting note: Macho Again (another son of Macho Uno) finished 2nd in the Preakness and 5th in the Belmont (08) then went on to win the New Orleans Handicap and Jim Dandy.
food for thought

i hear ya. good thing about the big race is how short it is compared to other big sporting events. i'm sure i can sneak away for half an hour on the 21st.

do y'all think the fact that Machen won the Derby Trial gives the LA Derby and Pants on Fire, Nehro and MMM a little more credibility?
i know in some circles Dialed In has been criticized for his FL Derby win against horses that didn't seem to show up that day. (given, while he's also being latched onto by a large part of the mainstream/uninformed crowd).

Screw all this verses bs
I'm having to go to a friend's house to watch the oaks.
Looks like all the dialed in stuff was just rumor after all
I would also like to bitch about the lack of all day Saturday coverage :( it is a dying sport.

are you or Bho looking at any of the beyer figures on any of these?
Posted on 5/4/11 at 12:28 pm to jojothetireguy
they beyers are pretty much crap for this group compared to usual

I prefer stalkers in large fields than full blown closers(see:Dialed In and Archx3).
Arch stalked The Factor in the Rebel the entire race. pretty sure he was 3rd wire to wire. did the same thing in the Southwest and the Arky Derby. i don't see how you consider him a full blown closer.

yeah i noticed.

i think arch is a bit more versatile too. i think his 3 in the rebel was much better than it looked, though he may have only been closer because he was keyed up by what happened in the gate next to him and didn't want to really settle.
i went back and watched the sugarbowl and he sat third off just off some quick splits then moved around the turn to break his maiden. i understand that that was a much shorter race, but i think if he needs to he can be closer than usual. since premier pegasus got hurt he's been my #1 and will stay that way, i just don't know who else to put with him...

i'm leaning more towards arch along with dialed in.
F*ck, i don't know

your boy + Hounds, Mo and pick a random one for the superfecta, IMO.
be done with hit and start working on your party. this field will drive you insane if you sit there and try to handicap it until Friday or Saturday.

i know you guys are high on hounds, but the more i looked into him the less impressed i was.
I'm just not seeing what you guys are seeing, but that's just me.
