Also, imagine going to sleep last night as some scrub bench player that hasn't hit in over a month who is just along for the trip, and you wake up and now you're in the lineup facing Rocker.

the problem with changing a foul ball to fair is that you're essentially putting a ball back in play that was ruled dead

Why can’t they judge in replay what base he would have reasonably made it to. I understand it’s hard to put a dead ball back in play, but a clear miss like that should be fixable.

that wasn't "replay" per se
that was the booth buzzing down to tell the umps they, by rule, can't change a ball ruled foul to fair
